GOSSIP: 2019: Tinubu can’t save APC from defeat - PDP II 042 reporters

- PDP has declared that Tinubu's new mandate would not save APC from defeat in 2019 -

President Buhari had on Tuesday, February 6, mandated Tinubu to reconcile aggrieved party members

- But PDP asked the Presidency to concentrate on governance rather than deploying resources meant for the good of the people on re-election The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said the appointment of national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former governor of Lagos state, Ahmed Bola Tinubu to head the APC’s reconciliation team would not save the party from defeat in the 2019 general polls. Daily Trust reports that the PDP national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, said in a statement on Thursday, February 8, that the Presidency should concentrate on governance rather than “deploying resources meant for the good of the people to push a desperate but ill-fated mission to perpetuate on Nigerians, an obviously unpopular presidential candidate in 2019.”

042 reporters gathered that the opposition party said the Presidency has become so “panicky that it effectively hijacked the functions of the leadership of its dysfunctional and ideologically vacuous APC by appointing people into partisan offices, outside its much-desired responsibility of governance.” The party said: "There is widespread disenchantment and indignation across the nation resulting from hunger and the inability of the Buhari Presidency to provide the people with basic necessities of life, which they had always enjoyed in the past. “The PDP therefore finds APC’s attempt to reconcile its dwindling ranks as laughable, cosmetic and politically inconsequential.”
