Popular rapper Meek Mill has been sentenced to between two and four years in prison for violating his parole according to several reports. The rapper who is from Philadelphia has been on parole since 2009 following his initial arrest in prison on dr*gs and weapons charges. Davido who has worked with Meek Mill in the past was among the celebrities who shared messages of support after Meek’s incarceration came to light.
Popular rapper Jay-Z also reacted to the sentencing. The rapper published a post on Facebook saying “the sentence handed down by the Judge – against the recommendation of the Assistant District Attorney and Probation Officer – is unjust and heavy handed.” On Instagram, comedian and actor Kevin Hart also showed support for Mill, saying “Praying for my brother @meekmill right now. God sometimes puts the toughest battles on his strongest soldiers.”
